Yes, we know it's officially Post Avenue, but it's an alley in familiar parlance, and so it will remain to the DJC. On the southwest corner of the landmarked Colman Building, at Post, is a long-vacant retail bay. How long has 92 Columbia St. been empty? Twenty years or so, judging by Google Street View and the DJC's institutional memory. (Our building is just across the street.)
The corner bay was for decades trapped beneath the gloomy, noisy onramp to the viaduct, which finally disappeared in 2019. The Colman Building sold out of receivership to a new owner early last year.
