Tacoma adopts Critical Areas update

The Tacoma City Council voted last week to amend the city's Critical Areas Ordinance to strengthen environmental protections.

The city says the revisions use updated scientific guidance for wetlands, streams and habitat buffers, with a focus on protecting fish and wildlife while ensuring compliance with state environmental requirements.
